Judy Gilley

Judy’s paintings explore the use of enhanced texture and design in bold semi abstractions. Gouache is her preferred medium for its vibrancy.
Current works are inspired by painting in the Peak District where she is creating a second series of Derbyshire paintings for a solo show in 2016.
Previous paintings include a series of domestic interiors/still lives with Ivon Hitchens very much an influence and a series echoing the Portuguese ‘saudade’ tradition of nostalgic longing for lost places and people.
Judy’s portrayals of the Northern Line by day and night capturing the visual shock of tube trains hurtling past are popular as prints.
